WORKSHOP

BATHURST

"Wild About Drawing"

Do you have a passion for wildlife, nature and drawing? Would you like to expand your pencil drawing technique to include the subtle hues or brilliant colours found in nature? This workshop explores graphite drawing as well as a unique mixed media technique combining watercolour wash, aquarelle coloured pencils and detailed overdrawing in graphite. Learn how to get the best from your graphite and coloured pencils. Discover how to create a variety of hues and effects with Aquarelle colour pencils and a limited watercolour palette. Draw detail in fur and feathers, study and draw animals in motion and learn how to instil life, colour and personality into your drawings. You will also experience the fun of drawing animals from ‘life’ (models cooperation and availability permitting). And maybe just for fun we will play with some ink work using marker pens. Hands on demonstrations and one-on-one tuition are a feature of Linda’s workshops. Some drawing experience preferred.

WORKSHOP

GRAFTON ARTFEST

"Drawing Wet 'n' Wild"

Go Wild! Do you love to draw and are passionate about nature and wildlife - or perhaps you would just like to expand your drawing skills to include nature studies and animals? This workshop will explore various techniques and mediums to create lifelike drawings of realistic textures and fur and feathers. Drawing from ‘life’ is a feature of the workshop and you will have the opportunity to study and draw an animal in motion and learn how to create a work from life studies. This year Linda is splashing about with vibrant watercolour washes and ink as well as aquarelle coloured pencils and graphite. Live animal studies, photography and a variety of ‘found’ natural items including feathers, shells, seed pods and maybe the odd animal skull or two will be used to help familiarise students with the different mediums. Students are encouraged to develop their individual talent and style to instil life, colour and personality into their drawings. Hands on demonstrations and one-on-one tuition are a feature Linda’s workshops. Some drawing experience preferred, 16 years and over.
